The Lower Haight saw a Friday night wave of people flood the blocks between mostly Steiner and Fillmore as local businesses participated in the resurrected Lower Haight Art Walk. It really was a vibrant sight to see with so many people teeming about taking in the plethora of artisan activity that really made you think  – “woah. there should be more of these”.

The Lower Haight Art Walk was put together by Robbie Albright and Janice Myint, featuring live painting, live music and DJ’s, merchant discounts & more. There were 29 shop and restaurant owners who opened their doors providing a great buzz for the area – so let’s take a peek at some of the night’s hightlights.

D-Structure featured Dave Crosland, sponsored in part by SCION, in their presentation: “UNDEFEATED”

Fifty24SF gallery featured El Mac’s exhibit “Faces of Life”. The Mac was on hand & provided some live art for those passing by on Fillmore street

Lower Hater’s had live jazz & painting outside,  and inside featured works by Aaron Hodges and Bradley Platz.

Romanowski live in action above … below a piece by Aaron Hodges

Tweekin Records had live art in the midst of vinyl junkies flippin’ through their wax

Three Twins had a few snarky food-based pieces by an artist that I forgot to inquire about

Upper Playground had a large selection of smaller Sam Flores pieces

let’s hope these art walks turn into something more regular because I saw a great crowd tonight all over the area & everyone really seemed to be enjoying themselves
