Things have been sort of busy for me lately, with the holidays upon us, company in town the past 3 days, etc.. so time has been short for me to do any postings.

Going on my 12th year of DJing now, I usually wouldn’t put a posting up of seeing another DJ event…Except this past Saturday night I was able to hop up on stage at a very strict venue here in SF, while one of the worlds best house DJ’s rocked the crowd… his name is Derrick Carter.

Hailing from the suburbs of Chicago, Derrick originally started spinning records at the young age of 9, and has steadily over the past decade or more made a significant name for himself and helped shape a definitive Chicago sound. His style gives particular nods to old school disco, jazz and soul. Nevertheless.. my friend has a decent rapport with Derrick and she was able to get us up on stage before he went on — even finding your way onto this stage is typically considered by most quite difficult.
